Hi beck2512,

Sorry to hear about the problem with installing your Garmin software.

If I read your post correctly then you installed the Garmin software, but then something happened to cause a problem?

1 Please advise exactly what happened and give us the approximate date, and also list the error codes or symptoms you experienced.

2 You then used a System Restore Point created before the install of Garmin, and this worked Ok? Is that right? please advise the approximate date of this.

3 When you attempted to reinstall The Garmin software it would not install… is that correct?…if so please advise exactly what happened, any error codes, or the symptoms experienced.

4 Before you tried the reinstall of the Garmin software did you try and remove the application/Program via Control Panel? and then did you remember to close down and restart your computer before attempting the reinstall?

5 Can you let us know if you can access the System Restore Point that you used ( see 2 above) and can you restore your computer to this time?

6 Is it correct that all System Restore Points created before this have been deleted?

7 Do you have a back up of your Registry made before you attempted the Garmin software install….  using Erunt or Tweaking .com or by some other method?

8 Do you have a good validated disc image made prior to the Garmin software install that you could use to re-image your hard drive?

(using either native Windows tools, Macrium Reflect Free, Drive Image, Norton/Symantec Ghost etc, Acronis or other disc imaging utility?

9 Have you tried using Revo uninstaller, or similar uninstall tool?

10 when you attempted the installs, did you use the "Run as Administrator" command by right clicking on the executable for the Garmin software install?

11 Finally do you have a complete back up of everything that is important to you on your computer so that in the event a reinstall of your operating system and applications, should ever become necessary you are prepared for it…. ? …(we hope that this would not be necessary, but its best to check your back ups now, just to be on the safe side…. if there are any deficiencies in your back ups, then it's best to address these now, and also make sure you have all your product serial codes including those for Windows itself and all the discs necessary in a handy place that you can put your hands on easily.

12 Sorry about all the questions but if we are to help you overcome this issue, then we really do need to know the exact sequence of what transpired.

When replying with the above information, please also advise the make and model number of your computer, its original operating system and level of service Pack and if your Win 7 installation came pre-installed on your computer, or if you subsequently purchased it and upgraded to Win 7 Ultimate

Regards
