First, I tried to create rescue media for Macrium Reflect and this adapter was grayed in with an exclamation mark and said, "This is detected." Others say other things like; ok for WinPE5, or ok for Win 10 etc. but are not selected with an exclamation mark and gray. Reflect does say, "The following are found on your pc" and lists about 4 items.
I went to Dell which did not indicate this driver is in need of updating. It did have 3 drivers that need updating like bus, NVidia and a third I have forgotten but I did nothing until I know what I am doing.
I did find there is an 8 ver and I have the 6 ver. allegedly. Some other driver program said ver 8 but I know I should stay with the manufacturer so the 8 may be inaccurate.
The Macrium process to create media and to update the Broadcom adapter shows folders where I should be able to locate the update like; This PC, Documents etc., in other words, file explorer.
Does this mean I should download a driver to my machine then find it with Macrium's process?
Please advise.
Secondly, my monitor keeps saying, "Auto adjust in progress and I was told this too is a driver issue. I had it with Win 8.1 but fixed it by unplugging and re-plugging. Win 10 does this at log in regardless of power cycling.
Dell did not mention a monitor driver needing updating with its scanner. Do you have an opinion about the monitor issue. I know I asked 2 questions but they are driver related so I hope it dos not violate any rules. Thank you
What Macrium process? Why are you using Macrium to update drivers?
I'd stick with what the Dell site has unless you are experiencing problems and need a new driver.
The process is creating a rescue disk and that's when it had Broadcom 802.11n network adapter in gray and said one of the 4 features of my pc may need attention. I created it anyway as it worked before under the same conditions; I just did not know how I should upgrade as it had a prompt to do so because it only showed my file explorer. In other words it showed the folders in my pc not an upgrade site.
Dell did not find an issue so I'll leave it as is.
All you will use the rescue disc for is to restore the system. Why would you care about networking? All you need is the ability to boot and launch Macrium, which WinPE gives you.
I'll try creating a rescue disc (flash drive actually) and see what Macrium shows me.
My error is that I did not put Broadcom together with networking so yes, now I see where it is not relevant o the rescue process.
I thought it might not work bc there was an exclamation mark next to it but understand your clarification.
I guess the flash drive is faster but I use the disc bc I have so many of them that I find it a convenient way of storing them. I rarely leave the house, so portability is not a concern..
I am glad you are creating a disc so you can see the options; none are now complicated but it is good to know what a program entails so you can help another foum member.
The re-deployment was a nice feature of which to be aware.
