Hello everyone , so recently i started getting some problems with my graphics cards drivers , when i started google chrome and reopened closed tabs ( around 12 of them 4 youtube tabs including ) my pc started throwing mesage that graphics driver crashed and was recovered and can't do much cause screen blinks pc freezes a bit . Tried to get latest graphics driver instaled seemed to be same issue after that too. Looked on forums and found that people were having same issue and identified it as Chrome problem advised to change few setting in chrome and issue diapeared . So all seemed fine but after i woke up in the mornign and tried to bring my PC back from sleep ( moving mouse or hitting any key ) nothing PC works all fans spin including graphics card ) but nothing on screen monitor still in sleep mode . Done a little bit more searching on phone . ppl said try to remove one RAM stick change their places and such but nothing still same . So i remembered that i still have my old graphics card so i instaled that one and it runs fine monitor works great too . Do you guys know what might be the problem , only asking cause graphics card fan was spining fine but no signal so thought that card might not be burnt and affraid to buying new card just to get same issue . my System windows 7 Intel Core i5 750@2.67ghz 4gb ram 64bit Graphics card that stoped working Radeon hd 6850 the old one that instaled now and works fine is Radeon HD5450 any ideas what might be wrong or is it just the case of graphic card being fried ?
Hi Makarevicius, It sounds like it could have been a hardware issue with the graphics card, how old is the card? If you have another computer, you could attempt to run it with the graphics card you took out. Otherwise if you are still within the manufacturers warranty period you can attempt to RMA it. Rich
Thanks Rich for reply . Graphics card was around 2+ year old. and now the more i think of it the more sense it makes that it might've been graphics card itself cause i also noticed that it took a bit longer than usual to bring it back from sleep mode than usual . Sadly got no other PC to check this out so just ordered a new card and hope for the best .
Hello again…. So same thing again, bought new graphics card like two days ago instaled it everything worked fine not a problem no error messages nothing . Today after work switched pc on instaled a game didnt like it uninstaled it checked mail and took a power nap for 1hour. Woke up pc was with acreen switched off i have it set to switch of after 15min or so. Tried to wake it up moved mouse nothing pressed space bar nothing . Pc itself seems to work but nothing is happening on screen. Didnt have time yet to try my old graphics card but it was working couple days ago just fine. Any idea what might be wrong?
