Does Windows 8 not have the automatic backup and restore like 7 did? I searched around and it says to backup to external drive. Windows 7 had it right on your C drive. You would just go to a "restore point"
I just want to quick go back to this morning's agenda and I cannot find it. Thanks.
I don't understand. I provided a link to Windows 8 backup and recovery options that provided several links to each technology available. Did you read them?
I just read this answer just now. So the file history works the same way as the "restore point' did in windows 7. I used it quite a lot when I installed something that screwed things up and i wanted to go back in time. Is that how this file history works? Oh yeah, I went to cCleaner and did the registry part, things got goofed up and at that point I was able to restore the registry.
I love my new computer and am googling everything before installing. There was a program I really wanted to install but Firefox didn't recommend it, so I didn't. Is that what I should do?
What happened to Lee and Satchan? I sure am glad you are still here.
You guys are fantastic. When I went to another forum because I wasn't getting answers here, there was no comparison. At one point I have to pay a tech to come out and fix problem. Thanks again.
It really depends on what you are trying to do. If you want to use system restore, it still exists. My point is, system restore does not restore "data" files like documents, pictures, etc. You have to use an alternative back up method like previously mentioned.
