Im experiencing problems trying to install windows, i formatted my harddrive due to a trojan, i went to install windows vista but was unable to due to the disk being damaged, i now have another copy of windows but cant install it as my keyboard and mouse have stopped working and i am unable to boot from cd, cant see anyway round this myself and have a feeling its something to do with the trojan, cheers for any help
I have a dell xps 420 which is a desktop, unfortunately it only has usb sockets no ps2, both keyboard and mouse are usb, plus the keyboard is cordless
Can you borrow a wired USB keyboard from a friend to try? Without a working keyboard there is really nothing you can do.
I should be able to sort something out. Is it possible for malware to disable use of your keyboard after formatting harddrive.
it worked fine when i first tried to install windows, when i came back to try and install a different copy the keyboard stopped working
Maybe the battery is dead or weak? I think it would be a good idea to pick up a cheap PS2 or USB keyboard just to have for times like this.
