Windows installer problems

Hi techs, we did a cleanup to remove some malware etc. The machine is running fast now, but I am unable to run some applications. I am getting the following message.

"The windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running Windows in safe mode, or if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance"

Go to Microsoft Support and read this fix.
"The Windows Installer Service Could Not Be Accessed" error message when you install a program in Windows XP

Problem solved.
