:) hi, hope i am typing this in the correct place. i have a samsung 3d tv ( boughtv2010). i cannot get an apt i want (sbs on demand) as samsung said tv to old (apt available from 2011 onwards). as i have a computer with which i can download" sbs on demand" and i have run an ethernet cable from my wireless modem (router) to the tv. was wondering if i could get my tv to show it from my computer…i noticed on the tv it has an ip address (set on automatic) but do not know anything about ip addresses submasks etc and where i could find it on my computer. or is there something external i could purchase in australia to solve this problem. thankyou in advance someone who may be able to help……john
yes you have posted in the wrong place and probably why you haven't received a reply, will ask one of the mods to move to correct place, probably hardware forum. the easiest way to achieve what you want is to forget all about connecting the tv to the internet or having it communicate to your pc by lan or wan (sometimes impossible anyway.) and just connect the pc to the tv directly as a second monitor/screen. you then just start watching on pc and drag the window onto your tv to watch it there, did this not long back for my dad, be warned tho the picture quality is not great and can be very blocky. there are a couple of ways to achieve this depending on your tv and pc, and which connection types are available. hdmi or vga are the normal connection types used. if you need more info just ask.
