Are you better of using the option ; settings>change pc settings>advanced restart> and follow the prompts to recover an image from your usb drive, or using just the rescue disc? I ask because I have always had better luck with the rescue disc than via Windows but have not tried Win 8 's new feature.. I have Macrium Reflect free and usually set the boot order to the right dvd then with disc in, follow prompts. This is serious, and nothing to play with, so would like someone who has done this to clear the way. Thank you

Use the rescue disk.
