Hi all, thanks in advance for your help.

I have a Windows Vista 32 bit system 5ooGb hard drive 4gb memory with a Quad core 2.4Ghz.

When using Internet Explorer it will not take me to some sites eg The Daily MAil online ( A Uk newspaper) instead a window appears saying Microsoft stopped you accessing this site as there is a Security Certificate Error. It then gives you a couple of options.

However, the BBCsport webiste works like normal.

Amazon uk website message comes up Content blocked - not a valid security certificate, even though it has worked fine in the past.

So thats the issue sometimes it works fine other times it refuses acces to sites quoting the secuirty certificate issue.

I have read someof your advice and so folowed the instructions to reset IE even back to factory state but that made no difference.

Below is a Hijack this scan for you and I await your directions.

Hi andrew2013,
Welcome to WTT

First up, make sure your PCs time and date is set correctly as this is often a cause.

See Microsoft Support Internet Explorer Security Certificate Error

A workaround:
Go to IE Internet Options / Advanced / scroll down and uncheck Warn about certificate address mismatch.

Cheers,
Lee

Thank you for this advice it seems to work on everything apart from Facebook and my Windows Live Messenger

I have followed your instructions on my Fb but the error warnign still comes up.

I canot sign into my Windows Live Messenger as I keep getting an eror message and on searching further it says that

error 81000395 - Microsoft Community

You might not be able to manage your Facebook connection settings right now. Update: Fixing the problem is taking longer than we hoped. We'll provide an update by 1/4 ...

Are the two things connected? If so how can we resolve it, lol I really do need to access my e-mails.

Many thanks

Andrew

Are you using a new Beta Messenger release? If so, beta versions can be very buggy and have often been responsable for that error code since 2008. Return to a stable (non-beta) messenger or create a Gmail account for your email as an alternative.

If you are not using a beta version of Messenger, do you have a firewall (such as Norton, Mc Affee, AVG free version or Zone Alarm) installed on the computer? If so, disable the firewall and see if that helps. Make sure the Microsoft firewall is enabled.

The above steps may or may not help with the facebook problem as it could be a facebook issue.

Cheers,
Lee
