Hi, and thanks for looking.
Under the heading of 'a little knowledge is a dangerous thing' I ran a cat 5 cable from one of the ports in my dlink router through the attic and attached it to a ZyXel router in another part of the house to extend the range of the wireless signal.
It works, in that I have two different access points I can connect to from different parts of the house.
I'd like to try to actually understand what's happening mostly for the benefit of just learning more about networking.
Anyway, the D-Link router, the one connected directly to the cable modem has the address [removed]. I can access the admin console and everything works fine. The ZyXel router which is connected to the D-Link by a network cable has the address of [removed]. I can't connect to it with a browser or ping it.
Any pointers on helping me understand what I've created here or how to get at the ZyXel would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
Gary
