Hi everyone, i am new here at what the tech. i have been struggling with my pc for quit some time now and finally decided to try and do something about it. i hope to not just fix what ever pc problems i have here but also to try and prevent them in the future. I hope to learn and understand a little bit more about my pc, so i plan to stick around after i find out what is wrong with my pc and how to fix it. So if there is any specific areas in the forum that a novice like i should look into first than i would welcome any suggestions. From what i know computers will always be at risk but theres no reason that they should be all the time for the same reason, especially if they are ones that can be fixed with minor knowledge that any computer user would have aquired along the way. so i really want to get this problem/s fixed because i use my pc alot thanks.
I really dont know exactly what the problem is but i do suspect that it is hacked. i think that someone is recoding live or just tracking my activities online. i do think it is a bit more serious than just a simple virus that copies key stroks or anything like that. more a long the lines of watching my screen as i use the internet. it is recent though that i have suspected this so im not sure how long it has been going on. the recurring problems that i have are mostly speed related. that is why i started to take interest in how the computer is working. the other reason is that i was always aware that a person could hack into your computer and watch you daily moves just for fun, so i want to make sure that is not what is going on. i would be surprised is it was though.
i started with the d/l for hjt and i have that so far. few problems, hjt is saying it is denied access to hosts file and it may not be able to fix them. it is asking me to edit the file after it is finish scanning and delete them my self or run as admin. should i run as admin and if so how do i do that on vista.
Don't worry about that warning about the Host file, leave it alone, just post the logs in a new topic in the Malware Removal forum.
One of the Malware Team will reply to your topic when they can.

Vista and Windows 7 users:
1. These tools MUST be run from the executable. (.exe) every time you run them
2. With Admin Rights (Right click, choose "Run as Administrator")
