Hello, My grandfathers has 2 hard drives, OS Vista. The "Recovery" one is full and the other one is almost empty. How do I fix this problem? I want to be able to utilize the empty hard drive.
you don't mess with the full recovery partition/drive for any reason, it's full because it's a small partition/drive and all that is on it are the very important operating system files needed to restore the pc back to a like new condition.

so what ever you do please don't delete/format or do anything to that partition because if you have a problem then it's those files that are a last resort to getting the pc back up and working correctly.

the nearly empty hard drive is what you are using when your in windows and should be the c drive.

If you make an ISO disc image DVD backup of the restore drive (basically transferring it to disk) if the computer has a recovery disk creator program, you could then reformat the extra drive space, but realistically considering you would have to restore the ISO with something like a BartPE disk, it would be far more beneficial to remove some personal data from the main C: drive to removable media like disks or a USB hard drive. After all, the recovery partition is only a small one and the space it would reward you with is hardly any reward at all considering the hassle involved and described. Cheers, Lee
Go to Start then to Run
Type in compmgmt.msc and click Enter
On left side click on Disk Management
On right side you will see you hard drive.
Now I need you to take a screenshot and attach it to your next reply. Do the following to take a screenshot while the above is open and showing on your desktop.

To do a screenshot please have click on your Print Screen on your keyboard. It is normally the key above your number pad between the F12 key and the Scroll Lock key
Now go to Start and then to All Programs
Scroll to Accessories and then click on Paint
In the Empty White Area click and hold the CTRL key and then click the V
Go to the File option at the top and click on Save as
Save as file type JPEG and save it to your Desktop
Make sure the window is open all the way so I can see everything on the top right window.
