Hi,

I've included some details about my PC below, and the only problem is that the media card readers do not seem to be functioning. I can read USB data, but neither of my media cards (one is a little wider than 4 cm, and the other a little over 2 cm) will be recognized by my PC. I don't see their icons appear in My Computer, and I don't get the standard message asking me what I would like to do with the files. I am able to read the 4 cm media card when I leave it in my camera and connect the PC through the USB, so that tells me the problem is within the PC. I tried reformatting the 4 cm card, but that didn't help. I also tried to reinstall the drivers (mentioned below), but I don't think I got anywhere with that process. I do have the original CDs that include my OS installation, driver installation, etc.

I've recently worked through a nasty malware bout with some friends over in the malware forum: http://forums.whatthetech.com/index.php?sh…121797&st=0
I would like to avoid reformatting my PC, but I do have everything backed up on DVDs due to the above problems.

Thoughts? & thanks for your help!
Michael

Hi Lee- I'm going to check out the grounding issue that the link mentioned. If I can't get anywhere, I will send you a PM or we'll just use our cables to load the pictures in through the USB ports. Thanks & have a good weekend, Michael
