Several strange issues with XP laptop

My wife downloaded ilivid on Monday, 12/19. It was "suppose" to assist her in downloading a piece of Free Music that she wanted. Since then she has had problem after problem. For example, whenever she clicks the Internet Explorer icon a "RUN AS" box comes up asking "which user account do you want to use to run this program?" She's never had that before. It's her machine. It has only her as a user account. It does the same for Microsoft Office, yet she can get into the program and type. She can save the doc but cannot re-open it again. When she opens her prior files (Word) she can't see them. The same is true with Excel. Once the spreadsheet is opened, prior files are gone. Yet if she goes to Start/My Documents/ she can open her word and excel files from there. When she clicks the internet explorer icon, she gets the RUN AS box, clicks OK and nothing happens. I have had to go around another source to access the internet. I have run a Hijack This sheet but couldn't get it into a log format. Would it be important to take a look at that report? dconant1

When iLivid was installed, did it come with Bandoo Media stuff and Searchqu (hijacks the search bar)?

Do a search for these programs in Add and Remove Programs. Remove all of them.

They came from Bandoo and I have eliminated them already. I'm sorry I didn't mention that. Is there some add'l pieces that I might have missed? The computer still has issues.

The very odd issues you have described indicates that you may have a Melware problem.
Copy and paste your first post here in a new thread in our Melware Forum. After clearance there, you can return to this thread if you still have issues. Let them know what you have removed and that it has not fixed the problems.
