i was looking to do a server move & needed suggestions on how to make it easier on my back as im getting older. one otion i found was a server lift… what do ou guys think? www.serverlift.com & do you have other suggestions?
Since you asked… I suspect we have some SPAM going on here. But on the off chance that you are legitimately searching for equipment and do want suggestions… serverlift is a well known and commonly used piece of equipment. I don't think we have many Members who do serious Server maintenance work. Therefore, I doubt you'll get other suggestions, though there are a few brands of similar products. If you are involved in a small or short-term job, you might consider renting instead of buying a piece of equipment that could cost you $6K. Otherwise, if this is a piece of equipment for your University's long-term use, then you probably need more extensive advice than what you could expect from a volunteer self-help computer tech forum. Consider consulting other University server installations in your state, or other industry server sites with similar needs. Best Regards
