Hi,
I use Windows 7 64 bit, my problem is nearly every time (let's say 2 of 3 times) i start windows, the date and time changes. Mostly for 4 or 5 days later but sometimes a specific date: November 10th… Also time changes randomly.
Another problem is sometimes tray icons disappear, the tray remains as big as there are several icons there but the icons don't appear and nothing happens when i click on it.
Any help?
Sorry to hear about you problems. Sounds like you may have picked up some kind of malware. To find out, go to the Spyware / Malware / Virus Removal forum, read the info there and follow the posted directions. Once you receive a clean bill of health, come back here if you have any additional questions or concerns or it turns out not to be a malware problem.
You may also want to replace the CMOS battery if you computer is a Desktop system and Not a laptop (laptops are much harder to replace usually). It's a CR2032 battery about the size of a quarter. Yo replace, power off the computer and unplug the power cord. Remove the side of the case and look for the battery. Newer computers usually have it in an easily accessible place and since you're running Windows 7 you probably have a fairly new one.
A dead or dying CMOS battery can cause date and time to be messed up but would not affect icons on the Taskbar.
Thanks for the reply, I will post topic at the malware forum, however i don't think it's a spyware/malware problem because i have this problem since the first few days i use this computer.
What is the make and model number of your computer?
Desktop or Laptop?
