Hello kellys13

Thank you for the log.

Please do the following:

  • Click on Start > Run and type helpasst -folder then hit Enter.
  • The tool will run and prompt for confirmation to remove any HelpAssistant folders found.
  • If prompted, restart your computer.
  • When complete, click on Start > Run and type helpasst -mbrt then hit Enter.
  • Post the new log that opens when it finishes :)
Ok, I ran the "Run and type helpasst -folder then hit Enter. The tool will run and prompt for confirmation to remove any HelpAssistant folders found." It asked me to hit Yes to delete, and I did. Then hit enter. Then it says "please wait" for like 30 minutes. I did it 3 times and it just keeps saying "please wait". I did everything exactly as you said. Did I do something wrong?!?!?!?!?
Hello kellys13

Did I do something wrong?!?!?!?!?

I don't believe so. Lets run a new status check so I can review the log:

  • Click on Start > Run and Copy/Paste helpasst -mbrt into the run box then hit Enter.
  • A log should pop up on your screen.
  • Please post the contents of the whole log in your next reply :)

Hello kellys13

Thank you for the log :)

It looks as though there is still a malicious directly present on the machine. Lets try running the following steps again:

  • Click on Start > Run and type helpasst -folder then hit Enter.
  • The tool will run and prompt for confirmation to remove any HelpAssistant folders found.
  • If prompted, restart your computer.
  • When complete, click on Start > Run and type helpasst -mbrt then hit Enter.
  • Post the new log that opens when it finishes.
If the tool freezes as it did before (and please let me know if it does), manually reboot your system and then run helpasst -mbrt as described above and post the log in your next reply.
It froze again, so I did the manual reboot. I ran it again, and here is the log.

Thank you so much!!
