When I use a search engine and the results are given the titles and descriptions of the sites look legit. But the problem is that the actual links (URLs) are to bogus sites. So when you click on a result, you end up at some other scam site(s) My HijackThis log is as follows:

Hello and welcome to Posted Image

Please be advised, as I am still in training, all my replies to you will be checked for accuracy by one of our experts to ensure that I am giving you the best possible advise.
This may cause a delay, but I will do my best to keep it as short as possible.

I am checking your HJT log now and will post back shortly with instructions.
I see you have Viewpoint installed.

Viewpoint Manager is considered to be foistware rather than malware, since it is installed without your approval but doesn't actually spy or do anything "bad". This will soon change, according to this article, which you may want to read.

I recommend that you remove all the Viewpoint products.

If you choose to remove this program this is how you do it:
  • Click Start
  • Go to Control Panel
  • Go to Add/Remove Programs
  • Find and click Remove for the following
  • Viewpoint Manager
Note: if there are any other entries related to Viewpoint (ie viewpoint media player) - they can be uninstalled also

Next I suggest you do this:

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.

Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.

If you use Firefox browser
  • Click Firefox at the top and choose: Select All
  • Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.

If you use Opera browser
  • Click Opera at the top and choose: Select All
  • Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.

Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

It's normal after running ATF cleaner that the PC will be slower to boot the first time.

Next:

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware
  • Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application.
  • Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
  • If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
  • Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Full Scan", then click Scan.
  • The scan may take some time to finish, so please be patient.
  • When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected. <– very important
  • When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart. (See Extra Note)
  • The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  • Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply.

Extra Note:If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediatly.

Next:

Please download RSIT by random/random and save it to your Desktop.

  • Double click on RSIT.exe to run it.
  • Before you click "Continue", make sure you change the List files/folders created or modified to: in the last 3 months
  • Click Continue at the disclaimer screen.
  • Once it has finished, two logs will open.
  • Please post the contents of both log.txt and info.txt in your next reply.

For you next post I require:
  • MBAM log
  • both RSIT logs
and describe how your computer is running now.

  • Please DO NOT start a new thread - use the Add Reply button to post into this thread
  • Do you still need help with your machine?

  • If the instructions are unclear or you are experiencing other difficulties, please let me know.
NOTE: Topics that remain unreplied to after FIVE days from the date of my original response, will be closed due to inactivity.
