Vista in 4BIT? code 12

me again, trying to install vista, the install screen is in 4bit. I thought if i install my gpu drivers then it would revert to 32bit. Unfortunatly it did not. So i went to device manager and saw that the display adapter said: NVIDiA EN8400GS- this device has no free resources it can use. (code 12). In BIOS my intergrated graphics ARE DISABLED. and the primary gpu is set to PCI-E/PCI. I have no idea what else to do. Tried another video card same thing BUT the colour is 32bit but the drivers dont install. Now im back on xp but i want to use vista. any help appreciated

Hello again EN8400GS, A Code 12 Error comes directly from the BIOS. Could you please tell me the name/model number of the motherboard and which BIOS revision is installed? Have you tried restoring the BIOS settings back to default? Cheers, Nahumi

Motherboard is: ONTAI i450LM4 and BIOSis AMI BIOS 2009 last updated. Yes i tried resetting ther BIOS Thats all i can say.

Are you sure that's the right motherboard model number? ONTAI isn't really a manufacturer, you might have read the wrong number. Your signature says "ASUS P5KPL"… or are you using a different computer?

Sorry, yes i am using another board. My ONTAI OT-I945LM4 using intel 945 chipset. Intel GMA 950 is disabled and that is the only thing i can think of that would change things. Ontai is the only name i can get of the board.
