Alright I'm back to this forum I made a thread here around last week or so and I was suggested to go to the Malware forum to see if there was any viruses, there wasn't any found so I was suggested to come back here, I'm expierecing these problems. 1. This happens through out the day randomly, when I move my mouse its like an eraser my start menu goes blank everything running goes blank and only the colors stay 2. My monitor keeps saying everything running process could be a suspicious file 3. I randomly I get error pop ups in red something like "0x902x000" something like that saying to press ok to terminate Here are some screen shots
First, it is important to use the right terminology to avoid confusion. The "CPU" is a special purpose "integrated circuit" (IC or microprocessor "chip") that mounts on the motherboard which is mounted or installed inside the case. This IC serves as the "central processing unit" - hence CPU. It would appear your "CPU" is working fine, but something is wrong with your "computer".

That said, I really don't know what the problem is. I might suggest you try this: http://windowsxp.mvps.org/AllPrograms.htm
Ha sorry yes I mean my computer, and really ? So my computer's perfectly fine ? I hope I'm not going crazy =/

And no its not saying empty it shows the list but there's no programs there its as if my start menu was loaded up in paint and something used an eraser and made it unvisable .. I'm sorry if I can't explain well enough but I googled my problem the best I could it turns out someone else also expierienced this problem as well, its exactly what's happening to me

"Start Menu… Desktop Goes Blank
I have a W2k3 terminal server that has an issue w/ the start menu. If
you are in the XP sytle start menu you can goto start, All Programs…
the desktop explorer crashes to a blank screen then rebuilds the
desktop. If I use the classic start menu this happens as soon as I
click the Start Button.

A reboot fixes it but it returns sometimes in hours sometimes in days.
It happens for all users including the administrator and even for
newly created users.

Anybody seen this one?

Go State!!! (NC State)"

and really ?

Yes, really! This is a technical support site and people from all backgrounds, experience, and native languages come here seeking help dealing with very technical issues. Therefore, it is essential we all speak using correct terminology not only for you, but for everyone reading, today, and in the future.

So my computer's perfectly fine?

Ummm, no. I said your "CPU" is working fine. Your computer, on the other hand, is having problems and I would guess it is Windows, the operating system on your computer, that is the problem and the link above is my best guess for a fix.
This is a very weird problem. It might just be file disruption or a bad Hard Drive disk sector problem.

Worth a try on XP if no luck with Digerati's suggestion :

1. Double-click My Computer

2. Right-click the hard disk that you want to check.

3. Click Properties, and then click Tools.

4. Under Error-checking, click Check Now' A dialog box that shows the Check disk options will open.
Select the following check box: Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors' and then click Start.

5. You will receive the following message:
The disk check could not be performed because the disk check utility needs exclusive access to some Windows files on the disk. These files can be accessed by restarting Windows. Do you want to schedule the disk check to occur the next time you restart the computer?

6. Click Yes to schedule the disk check, and then restart your computer to start the check.

This will take some time so do not do anything while it is running, even if it seems to freeze or the screen goes black.

Cheers,
Lee
