Hey Guyz Freakzsterz again! I've finally got my computer to detect Wireless internet via the router/modem, its a Thomson TG595 Wireless Router. I can currently connect to my lapto using its security code, however when I go to try and connect onto the network using my new HP computer, it says "The settings saved on this computer for the network do not match the requirements of the network. Would anyone be able to aid me in getting this problem fixed? Your help would be much appreciated. Thank You =D
Hi, sorry to hear of the wireless problem Your router will only allow a connection via your HP computer if the encryption key that is set on the router matches exactly the encryption that is set on your HP computer. So for example if you have set your router with WPA PSK security encryption, with a password of 27!>&Tij8379Wxz%=*M62#<$ then you need to enter exactly the same into your HP computer…get a letter wrong or use lower case where an upper case letter is required or specify for example WPA2 encryption by mistake and it just wont work….. I usually recommend folks disable encryption when setting up their machine, once its running Ok then you can apply the encryption. NOTE whilst using your router without encrytion its open to the whole world, so only do this asa check for a second or so..then set up your encryption. Regards paws
Hi there. Which Operating System are you using?

You will need to delete the wireless settings and put the encryption key on again. (Do this if you know the exact wireless key)

For Windows 7 / Vista
  • Click Start then Control Panel then Network and Internet
  • Choose Network and Sharing Center
  • On the left hand side you should have manage wireless, delete the wireless router that is there and create a new one, input the Name of the router and the encryption you have used
If that doesn't work

Get hold of a UTP cable, basically the network cable, connection one end to your laptop RJ45 socket and the other to the router port designated for hosts not the WAN port. Your laptop should automatically get an IP address and you can now surf the internet and can now access the router set up and change any configuration if you have the admin password unless not specified.

To get to the router setup

In your browser, in the address bar type something like 192.168.2.1 or 192.168.1.1 (this depends on which manufacturer it is, it should say on your router if you turn it upside down)

Once there, login, go to wireless settings, and change key.

If this machine doesn't get an IP address, say so, I can provide with instructions.

This problem is easy to fix, I have had friends with this problem many of times. For instance they have changed their password for the router wirelessly then forgotten.
