Hi,
I'm running windows 7 64 bit and have been for over a year now. The last few months, when java has tried to update, it ran into an error with one of the files. I ended up completely uninstalling java and downloading a fresh copy from their website to install. I run symantec corporate edition anti-virus and needed to turn off the auto-protect to reinstall java. Install worked fine but comp has had severe stability issues (many blue screens) and last night was the final straw. I was playing a game on my comp and the game became corrupt with a texture issue and upon loading the next map, my comp went to blue screen. Upon restarting, I found that symantec would not load properly and the auto-protect feature would not turn on and if I tried to manually turn it on, symantec would crash. So, I uninstalled symantec and tried to reinstall but the setup does not complete and does not give a reason why. I tried using housecall to scan my comp to see if it found anything but housecall could not be installed because it said i was missing bcrypt.dll in my sys32 folder. I went to look in the folder and I actually still have that .dll, so I downloaded a new one to copy over but I do not have rights to change that file on either my admin account or the actual admin account for my computer, not sure how that is possible. Several other .cab files are showing corrupt when installing other programs, will get the specific ones later today. Also, when my comp restarted, windows said my copy of windows was no longer genuine and I had to retype the product key in, which was accepted and no longer an issue but I feel is worth noting. Firefox seems very unstable as well right now. I tried installing bitdefender and the scan gets about %50 and then crashes firefox. When I tried to attach the hijack.txt to an email in gmail, it said there was an error with the firewall or a proxy even with my firewall disabled. So I just pasted info into an email, which is why it looks edited, didn't know what ot change back, will be able to post a fresh copy around 1600 cst. Anyways, here is the hijack info.
Any help would be much appreciated!!

Ok, My comp totally crashed last night to the point where it wouldn't boot properly. Right before the login screen would appear, I would get a quick bluescreen and the computer would restart. I would click yes to repair startup and it would find a problem but would not be able to fix it. So, I ended up booting from the windows dvd and did a restore from 2 days ago. -Symantec still does not work properly, but I haven't uninstalled it again to attempt a reinstall. -When trying to clear the java cache, I went to control panel to open java but I get an error saying that "no application found" -I uninstalled firefox last night and reinstalled although I kept personal settings. -I have not experienced any crashes since restore with either firefox or my computer -ATF cleaner worked smoothly -Here is report from malwarebytes: "Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware 1.46" "www.malwarebytes.org" "Database version: 4825" "Windows 6.1.7600" "Internet Explorer 8.0.7600.16385" 10/14/10 04:06 PM "mbam-log-2010-10-14 (16-06-09).txt" "Scan type: Quick scan" "Objects scanned: 147698" "Time elapsed: 4 minute(s), 47 second(s)" "Memory Processes Infected: 0" "Memory Modules Infected: 0" "Registry Keys Infected: 14" "Registry Values Infected: 1" "Registry Data Items Infected: 0" "Folders Infected: 3" "Files Infected: 6" "Memory Processes Infected:" "(No malicious items detected)" "Memory Modules Infected:" "(No malicious items detected)" "Registry Keys Infected:" "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\explorerbar.funredirector (Adware.DoubleD) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully." You had a trojan so I suggest you run an online scan

http://www.eset.eu/online-scanner
Go here to run an online scannner from ESET.
Click the green ESET Online Scanner button.
Read the End User License Agreement and check the box: YES, I accept the Terms of Use.
Click on the Start button next to it.
You may receive an alert on the address bar that "This site might require the following ActiveX control…Click here to install…". Click on that alert and then click Insall ActiveX component.
A new window will appear asking "Do you want to install this software?"".
Answer Yes to download and install the ActiveX controls that allows the scan to run.
Click Start.
Check Remove found threats and Scan potentially unwanted applications.
Click Scan to begin.
If offered the option to get information or buy software. Just close the window.
Wait for the scan to finish
Use notepad to open the logfile located at C:\Program Files\EsetOnlineScanner\log.txt
Copy and paste that log as a reply to this topic.
While the scan was running I figured I would hop onto my university website and do some homework. After logging in to website, firefox crashed and upon restarting firefox, my comp got a blue screen with "bad_pool_caller" as the reason. After restart, I tried webpage again and it worked fine and I am once again running the scan. Will post results when done.
Well, I'm not really impressed with symantec right now… ESETSmartInstaller@High as downloader log: all ok ESETSmartInstaller@High as downloader log: all ok esets_scanner_update returned -1 esets_gle=53251 # version=7 # OnlineScannerApp.exe=1.0.0.1 # OnlineScanner.ocx=1.0.0.6211 # api_version=3.0.2 # EOSSerial=ba6463fd25190a4e895ffe53393fe690 # end=finished # remove_checked=true # archives_checked=false # unwanted_checked=true # unsafe_checked=false # antistealth_checked=true # utc_time=2010-10-15 12:04:06 # local_time=2010-10-14 07:04:06 (-0600, Central Daylight Time) # country="United States" # lang=1033 # osver=6.1.7600 NT # compatibility_mode=5893 16776574 100 85 38624129 38639046 0 0 # compatibility_mode=8192 67108863 100 0 0 0 0 0 # scanned=381638 # found=4 # cleaned=4 # scan_time=5450 C:\Documents and Settings\dano\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Low\Content.IE5\61XX5XJA\symantec-antivirus-corporate-edition-v10190009-32-64-bit-2[1].html HTML/ScrInject.B.Gen virus (deleted - quarantined) 00000000000000000000000000000000 C C:\Documents and Settings\dano\AppData\Local\Temp\update.exe a variant of Win32/AutoRun.Injector.M worm (cleaned by deleting - quarantined) 00000000000000000000000000000000 C C:\Windows.old\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temp\removalfile.bat Win32/Adware.Virtumonde application (cleaned by deleting - quarantined) 00000000000000000000000000000000 C C:\Windows.old\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Temp\NERO14768\Toolbar.exe Win32/Toolbar.AskSBar application (cleaned by deleting - quarantined) 00000000000000000000000000000000 C
I use only free anti-virus programs.

I also have the paid for version of MalwareBytes (anti-malware)

Use an AntiVirus Software - Choose only one - More than one will conflict. It is very important that your computer has anti-virus software running to protect against viruses. Update Antivirus prior to manual scans as necessary or as used. Please only choose one, having more than one can cause problems, such as crashes and your computer to slow down.
