locked files

hi i was wondering if anybody could help to figure out how to unlock the locked files on my pc. i bought a computer that had vista ultimate and i upgraded to windows 7 ult. i am the sole user of this computer but there are still locked files (they have a little lock next to them) documents, pictures etc. there are other same named folders that i could open but i would like for all the folders to be unlocked. this is what i am use to from using xp. i have followed the instructions to do it from the help file but i am not having success. thank you in advance

cld, read through this thread, see if it helps: Lock icon appears next to file name

hey ztruker!! thank you i will. btw i purchased a ati 4670 1gb graphics card ($48 on ebay with shipping) and everything is running far better than i could have imagined. the windows experience index for it is 6.7 for aero and the 3d. i am also running games (which wasnt even my intention) at 1280x1024 with full everything including fear, battlefield: bad company, resident evil 5, quake wars enemy territory to name a few…

Mine are only 5.9 and 4.6 …. I'm jealous.
