I just went through a full heavy duty malware scrub. But Internet Explorer still takes 2-3 mins to open after a reboot. You can try it several times and it literally just sits. Then all the attempts open at once. Other apps take a bit longer to open as well, but not like IE.

Thanks for your help and ideas.
Hi, 1 Try a different browser…Google Chrome, or Mozilla Firefox for example.. 2 Close down your machine (full close down not a sleep hibernate standby) 3 Wait 30 seconds with a blank black screen 4 Restart your computer 5 Wait 6 minutes (by the clock!) 6 Open your new browser….any quicker? Don't try and start to run multiple copies (like you have been doing with IE) its easy to start clicking away ,especially when nothing seems to happen Regards paws
Ok, if Firefox is working well it looks as though the problem is probably within Internet Explorer 1 Click on Start 2 Right Click on Internet Explorer 3 Click on Browse without Add ons any better? Regards paws

That's not listed as an option.
Hi, OK, try it this way 1 Click on Start 2 Click on Run 3 type into the white box iexplore –extoff 4 Click on OK Note the space between the "e" and the " –" it needs to be there. See how you go Regards paws
Well, it's interesting. I rebooted, got distracted for 10+ mins. Came back, and IE opened right up. I rebooted again. This time I didn't want long, just enough for the thing to shut up and sit silent. Tried IE. Nothing. Tried the run iexplore -extoff. Nothing. Then tried Mozilla, and it opened right away. About 2 mins later, the -extoff window opened, and then the normal IE opened right after that!
