I have a new PC (less than a month old). OS Windows 7. I have been getting the following error everytime I start the PC for about 2 weeks now. "Unhandle Exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately. Cannot anchor balloon at position '(X=1781.Y=1080).' I have also been getting an error concerning my video display….NVIDIA ..when this pops up, my screens gets little specks all over and I have trouble seeing my screen. Are these two errors possibly related??? Thanks so much for any help!!!
TerpFan, the error is coming from Dell Datasafe. It is attempting to put something on the screen at a location that is outside the bounds of your screen. This is a resolution issue, and it sounds related to your video problem. You did not post the service tag of your Dell. Please do so, that I may look up the specifications on your computer. Uninstalling or disabling Dell Datasafe, if not used, it a resolution to the error message. But, the underlying problem may be a bad video driver or video setting. My first recommendation would be that you attempt to download and update your video driver. The most up to date driver will probably be downloaded from the video device's manufacturer, and not from the Dell website. I don't know what that would be though until I have further information on your computer.
Service tag is 1N6MKM1..and now that you mention it…the data safe never runs correctly and always comes back with an error. I did try to update the video/display software through Dell but not the manufacturer….I will do that as well.
Well, good ol' Dell. You put in the serial number so there is no question as to what hardware is in the system and they take you to a site with 5 different video cards listed. What video card do you have?
I got the driver updated through NVIDIA. Apparently Dell gave me the bare basics…because now I have 3 softwares linked to my NVIDIA instead of 1…..hmmmmm. It's a GeForce 400 series. I also went ahead and just got rid of the Dell Data Safe…..After doing both of those things, I did reboot and it seems like the error has subsided. I will let you know if it shows back up. THANK YOU sooooo much for leading me in the right direction!!!!!
