Hi Folks: I hope you can help. i have a one year old dell inspiron 1440 model PP42L a windows update window stays open all the time i can't open task manager i can't run a system restore. i tried to run a number of your diagnostic tools and obtain file scans or logs for you but many tools will not download. When i do get them on the desktop, they will not open or run. The password protection does not come up when the computer starts or is opened i can't access mcafee several dialogue boxes are stuck open i can't shut it down i can only close it and let the battery die - even after this - when it restarts it opens up right where it left off. Any ideas? Calliefaye08

hello! looks like this was just a windows installer hang up everything is working fine now but it was hung up for a month! Thanks Callie
