Acetone (nail polish remover) and laptop cases don't mix very well at all. You are probably doomed to be reminded of the accident for the remainder of your machine's days. The damage, though most likely appearing to be surface only, has probably penetrated at least a few microns. Any attempt to use abrasives to polish the spot is likely to cause even more damage. Any attempt to repair at all, needs to be judged in terms of the likelihood of causing additional damage, versus just living with it. Some Fabric Stores (such as Hancock Fabrics, Burlington Stores, etc.) occasionally have "magic marker type pens available in an assortment of colors. You might get lucky and find a close match. Live with it, or put a sticker of your favorite music group over the spot.
