hi, i bought windows 7. now, i can't find drivers to help get my laptop up to speed. i downloaded windows 7 upgrade advisor… couldn't run it because can't connect to the internet. is my computer compatible/able to run windows 7? it is a hp compaq nx9110 laptop
Hi etidd, from Microsoft's website; If you want to run Windows 7 on your PC, here's what it takes: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) processor 1 gigabyte (GB) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit) 16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit) DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver Does your laptop meet those requirements? Chances are, it probably will run Windows 7, but before you go ahead and purchase Windows 7, make sure you meet the specs listed above. If you have any questions, please ask. The HP website does not have Vista or Windows 7 drivers for that laptop. The only way you may be able to find drivers (no guarantee) is to figure out what the actual device/chipset is for each: Video, Network, Audio, USB (maybe), Chipset then go to that manufacturers website and see if there are Vista/Windows 7 drivers available. I think you are going to have a very difficult time doing this. Much easier for Desktop systems where you can easily see what the make/model of the system board and addon cards are. Much harder for a Laptop. Your best bet would be to go back to XP in my opinion. Hope you imaged your XP before wiping it to install Windows 7. If not you will need the Recovery CD from HP/Compaq or your own copy of XP.
