Help with my Averatec laptop

I have a latop its an Averatec model number 2200 series andits a window xp and i let my friend clean my computer from useless files anhd when i got it back erverytime i got online 10 minutes into it itll stop working and the only way to use it again is when i restart my computer i tru sytem restore to the manufacture state with the recovery disk and that didnt help and not only that but sum programs i go to use stops working also and i dont know what s going on…pls help me

If you have used the machine manufacterer's Restore CD, then you may have lost some of your application programs and will have to install them again, including their associated product key codes for activation.

Did you reinstall your Chipset Drivers? It is essential for you to update your Windows XP operating system to SP3 plus all of the associated critical updates and patches. You have at lease on application that is so old and so vulnerable that you should uninstall it immediately… Adobe 7.0 Adobe's newest and least vulnerable version is 9.x Take care of this immediately. As an alternative (and one that I recommend) uninstall Adobe Reader and related, and download/install Foxit PDF reader (free) (and better IMO) Doesn't look like you have reinstalled JAVA JRE 6 18 That will prevent several features from running correctly. Take care of the above, then run PCPitstop Full Tests again and post a fresh link to the new results. Best Regards

You appear to accomplished some of the above recommendations.

And it does appear that you "disabled" ZoneAlarm 6.1, but did not get it completely uninstalled.

As a result, your machine appears to be completely without Antivirus and Firewall Protection. <– Very Risky, Not recommended !!!

I recommend that you download and install AntiVirus Protection immediately.

There are some Free AntiVirus utilities that I recommend:

Avira
Avast!

Make a decision. Select one of the above, not both. Or select one other competent Antivirus of your choice, but only one.
Download and install your new Antivirus, and allow it to update.

As to Uninstalling the old and dysfunctional version of ZoneAlarm.
1. Try uninstalling from Control Panel Add/Remove
2. Reboot to Safe Mode, then use Control Panel Add/Remove to uninstall ZoneAlarm
3. If the above doesn't do the job of uninstalling Zone Alarm, then here is the Zonealarm Uninstaller Tool direct from ZoneAlarm.
