I'm trying to delete some programs and I'm getting the following error message: "Windows cannot find ‘C:\windows\system32\rundll.exe’. Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search." Any suggestions?
Hi chanlon, welcome to WhatTheTech.

Have you done as suggested and searched for rundll.dll. Is it in C:\Windows\system32?

Do you have a XP install CD? If yes, put it in your CD drive then click on Start then Run, type sfc /scannow and press Enter. sfc (System File Checker) will check that all system files are in place and not corrupted and replace any needed. No completion message when done, it just goes away.

You can also try booting you XP install CD then enter R when allowed to get to the Recovery Console. From there, enter chkdsk c: /p /r and press Enter. Let it run to completion. This can take an hour or two depending on the size of the drive and how much data is on it.
