Hi guys, well after discovering the the bulging capasitors dicided to get a new motherboard, someone has told me that if i install a new motherboard i have to reformat and install a new o/s, is this true or will the exsiting hard drive find and config itself. thanks for all the help guys tuxedo
Hi, when you replace a mobo it is good practice to do a fresh install of Windows………….if you try and use the "old" OS on the hard drive you will usually end up having lots of problems, you will have to do a repair install (so Windows can find your new hardware)…….and it practically always ends in a mess that needs a format and fresh install to get it working properly. Just make sure your back up is OK, you have all your drivers, installation files/discs and serial numbers etc before you star on the fresh install Regards paws
Hi Paws, thanks for the info, i will follow your advice as always. you guys give so much help. thanks again and happy new year to you all tuxedo
