First of all, great "thank you" to CatByte. His posts helped me clean out a rootkit on a friend's computer

However, after cleanup, there is now a folder on C:\ called something like Combo-Fix5711C. It has the "my computer" icon. Double clicking the folder takes me back to where i would be had i clicked "my computer". The folder is not visible at all when doing DIR.

I did the ComboFix /u as indicated in the thread. But i may have run it twice before doing the uninstall

Any ideas? What information would you need to fix it? It's a friend's computer so i don't have continuous access to it. Let me know everything i need to gather so i can get it in one go.

Thank you!

Just re- download ComboFix.... do not run it.

just run the clean up command from the run box > ComboFix /u

or just right click the file and select 'delete'

download ComboFix from one of these links
