Hi,
After having to remove a lot of spyware, ad-ware and malware over the last few years (for friends and colleagues, (my PC is squeaky clean lol) I have found that it is often better to run "cleaners" like Malwarebytes in Safe Mode. Windows is running fewer processes so the scan should be quicker and often the rogue processes aren't running at all. My method of cleaning is to boot to Safe Mode with Networking and then load the required programs from a pre-made CD and afterwards update all programs (i have found that certain malware can block internet access in normal boot mode). Once all updates have been completed I then start the "cleaning"process.
I was wondering whether the experts thought this method was necessary.
