Hey there,
I am wondering if anyone that is on Windows XP knows how to create the 'Show Desktop' shortcut that is in Windows Vista.
For XP you have to press the Windows button + D to get this to work but I want it as a shortcut so I can put it in my quick launch bar.
Does anyone know how to do it?
TBH it should already be there, as long as it wasn't deleted at some point, it can be recreated, but first lets check what you have there.
The quick launch toolbar is a part of xp just like vista, but unlike vista it is hidden by default, to reveal this simply right click on the task bar and you will see Toolbars, expand that and you will see quick launch, click on it and you will get the buttons next to the Start button as you do in vista, and show desktop is a default button, so unless it's been removed\deleted it should be there, if this isn't the case we can help you to restore it, just let us know.
8210GUY you're right. I did delete it by accident. I thought it was a quick link to the Control Panel but I was mistaken.
Abydos, thank you for the link. I downloaded the problem fix and it was restored to my quick launch toolbar.
Cheers both of you for your time and help!
