Avatar problem -

I want to upload a photo (jpg) from my computer to use as my avatar….but the upload keeps failing. Auto scaling appears to be on (this IS a rather large file…..like about 2MB) but, shouldn't auto scaling do it? Suggestions? Thanks, Mike

Your avatar must be no bigger than 100 pixels by 100 pixels in size. Uploaded avatars from your computer must be no larger than 100 KB.


From your size description (2mb) you have some serious resizing to do before you could expect the system to accommodate that image.

You can "get by" with a little more wiggle-room if you "host" the image at some place like photobucket and link it via URL.

What photo editor do you use?

I haven't really settled on a photo editor in the past year or so. Keep buying cameras, upgrading browsers and other software……all of which want to point me to THEIR choice. Today, I'll try Paintshop to get my avatar photo down to size and see what happens. Thanks for getting back, Doug……..have a great day! m
