I am certain its no virus and I dnt even think its software related can someone please help
Home Networks and phone lines can make a person happy when they're working, and drive a person crazy when they're not.
Do you have a separate Modem and then that modem connects to your D-Link router?
If you were to remove the Router and connect directly to your DSL Modem, do you ever have "sudden loss of connectivity"?
That you experienced improvement when you "changed the wires" suggests the possibility that one or more connectors was not fully seated into its socket.
Let's be specific here. There are no "telephone wires" connected to a D-Link router.
Rather, there is a single CAT5 Ethernet cable connecting to the Router from your DSL Modem.
From the Router to your computer there are no "telephone wires", only CAT5 or wireless.
(unless your Router is a combination modem/router/switch)
It is possible that either your Modem or Router became corrupted (it happens. After all, both are mini-computers that handle large amounts of traffic information) Turning off the power (to change the wiring) and then powering back up, "could" have allowed either the router or the modem to "power cycle". Power cycling is allowing a few minutes for either a router or modem to rest, clear the information they have been holding, and revert to factory original settings.
Power cycling is a recommended "maintenance" to perform maybe one time monthly.

Now, about your "Telephone" wiring…
It's best to have the shortest possible wire from your wall phone-jack to your Modem.
Telephone wire free from defect is important.
If in doubt, change it out for fresh known-good wiring.
With answers to the above and ruling out any defect in the above, if the problem persists, then we can move on to the proper setup of your D-link Router.
Keep us posted with your progress.
Best Regards
No my computer doesn't have inbuilt modem
