A360 Infection

Good Morning My boss's computer has the A360 virus on it. I've tried a "removal instruction" by www.removal-instructions.com, that helped remove all the files, possibly. But he is having trouble with the internet, it is slow and non responsive in simple tasks and I've tried downloading AVG Antivirus this morning to make sure all the A360 is gone and the web pages either freezes and becomes "Not responding", or it opens a bogus web page saying Google has detected an unregistered A360 please click here to register. What can I do? I am not an expert in computer tech talk but I am willing to learn. Thanks for your help! BTW-I can not download the Hijack This file on this infected computer. It changes the file from an exe file to a generic windows and ask what program do you want to open this file with. I tried downloading in on my computer and it worked differently-fine. Any suggestions as to a way around this?
