I started to see pop up McAfee warning windows this past weekend. It was warning of these files/threats…

mst122.dll
jvmimpro.jar-51fad18-11dd02ff.zip
vmain.class

I talked to my IT guy who recommended I run Spybot S&D and Ad-Aware (i could not download the latest Ad-Aware updated for some reason).

Anyway, I was hoping someone could look at my HijackThis log and let me know if anything suspicious still exists. Thanks!

Hello and welcome to What the Tech! My name is BHowett and I will be helping you to get sorted. If for any reason you do not understand any of the instructions, or are just unsure then please do not guess , simply post back with your question, and we will go through it again.

ComboFix

Please download ComboFix from Here or Here

* IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop

  • Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools. Note: If you are having difficulty properly disabling your protective programs, or are unsure as to what programs need to be disabled, please refer to the information available through this link : Protective Programs
  • Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.
  • As part of it's process, ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed. With malware infections being as they are today, it's strongly recommended to have this pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal. It will allow you to boot up into a special recovery/repair mode that will allow us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware.
  • Follow the prompts to allow ComboFix to download and install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console, and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console.

**Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, ComboFix will continue it's malware removal procedures.

Once the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed using ComboFix, you should see the following message:

[external image: Posted Image]

Click on Yes, to continue scanning for malware.

When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt in your next reply.

Do not mouse-click Combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.
BHowett, thanks for looking into this for me!

Here is the ComboFix log file…

Hi I just to apologize for the delay, we had a power outage in my neighborhood, and during the repair they knocked out my cable, and cable internet. So you can imagine what fun I have been having at the house for the last couple days :) I have a tech coming out this evening so hopefully I will be up and running soon. Again I apologize, and If I can squeeze some time in at work I will.
No problem. I wanted to ask about this entry in the Hijack This log and in the ComboFix log. R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings,ProxyServer = 10.109.76.252:80 Does that mean all my internet traffic was being sent through someone's proxy server? … so they could capture all my sent and received info? By the way, I had HijackThis remove that item.

I'm going to post my issue at another forum. I need to get some faster help. Thanks for looking.

I see you are already getting help here, so I will close this topic here. Again I apologize for the delay and I understand you need to seek help elsewhere.

good luck getting sorted, and feel free to stop back by if you ever need anything
