My boss' laptop has a couple of prolems. 1. When he boots up first thing in the morning it takes forever for his desktop to appear, sometimes as long as 10 minutes. 2. Once the desktop appears, he receives a warning message that reads as "Invalid License ID" click ok to continue. After clicking ok, everything seems to be fine. 3. After shutting down the computer, it will reboot itself. Does anyone have any words of wisdom for me to fix this frustration for my boss? BTW. this laptop is connected to a 2003 windows server and the operating system is Win xp. Thanks for any help
Hi, try this: rename the monitor.exe file usually located in C:/program files/acer/eRecovery, rename it to Zmonitor.exe (so you can find it again easily, to rename it back to the original,) if it doesn't help solve the problem Regards paws
Hi also try pulling the battery out and running it just from the usual power wire for a minute or two and see if this improves the boot up time…Then the battery can be replaced again. NOTE only remove/replace the battery when the machine is switched off…(not just in hibernate/sleep/ standby) Regards paws
