[Closed] out of ideas and really bogged down computer

the computer is a dell 2350 / 512mb ram/ pentium processor ~1.2 GHZ / win xp home edition/ spk 2
It has wired verizon fios internet / updated to ie version 7, yesterday.

the computer had alot of games downloaded by grandchildren / no antivirus protection.
I was always getting the "busy server text box message and this usually locks up the computer.(It's a virus!)

In safe mode I was able to run SmitFraudFix and deleted 9 infected files. I then ran SDFix and found 16 trojans and deleted them.
I then ran Malwarebytes Anti Malware ver. 1.32 and it found 218 infected files. I deleted them.

After doing this the computer seemed to get healthy again and began runnning perky.I should have left well enough alone.

Next I installed Symantec antivirus software. I tried to uddate the live update definition files and was always denied internet connection, even though my internet e-mail always worked ok. ( IT has its' own norton antivirus scan, for e-mail only) So I could never get the updated definition files and do a complete scan. Therefore, I never had antivirus protection running. Itried turning off firewall and doing live updates. Still no internet connection, Symantec LU1814 error message .No success. I tried entering symantec into trusted sites. No good.

Called verizon and the internet connection is OK. I reset the Verizon router also.

I also updated internet explorer to ie 7. I had to remove Google Desktop in order for it to run faster. It ran better

After a day or two, the busy server virus is back and the computer is slow as hell almost frozen.
I tried to rerun the 3 apps above again in safe mode. I was only able to get SmitFraud Fix to run.Not much improvement.
SD FIX seems to help alot but has never run again after first install. Tried redownloading and running . No success

I am out of ideas. So I have posted a Hijack This Log of the present state and would very much appreciate some help.

hello

Before we begin, you should save these instructions in Notepad to your desktop, or print them, for easy reference. Much of our fix will be done in Safe mode, and you will be unable to access this thread at that time. If you have questions at any point, or are unsure of the instructions, feel free to post here and ask for clarification before proceeding.

Download SDFix and save it to your Desktop.

Double click SDFix.exe and it will extract the files to %systemdrive%
(Drive that contains the Windows Directory, typically C:\SDFix)

Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
  • Restart your computer
  • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
  • Instead of Windows loading as normal, the Advanced Options Menu should appear;
  • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press Enter.
  • Choose your usual account.
  • Open the extracted SDFix folder and double click RunThis.bat to start the script.
  • Type Y to begin the cleanup process.
  • It will remove any Trojan Services and Registry Entries that it finds then prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
  • Press any Key and it will restart the PC.
  • When the PC restarts the Fixtool will run again and complete the removal process then display Finished, press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
  • Once the desktop icons load the SDFix report will open on screen and also save into the SDFix folder as Report.txt
(Report.txt will also be copied to Clipboard ready for posting back on the forum).
  • Finally paste the contents of the Report.txt back on the forum.
I will be traveling until next Tuesday and will be unavailable for forum dialog. Will check back upon my return.

Here is the SDFix report you requested:

Download ComboFix from one of these locations:

Link 1
Link 2

* IMPORTANT !!! Save ComboFix.exe to your Desktop

  • Disable your AntiVirus and AntiSpyware applications, usually via a right click on the System Tray icon. They may otherwise interfere with our tools

  • Double click on ComboFix.exe & follow the prompts.

  • As part of it's process, ComboFix will check to see if the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed. With malware infections being as they are today, it's strongly recommended to have this pre-installed on your machine before doing any malware removal. It will allow you to boot up into a special recovery/repair mode that will allow us to more easily help you should your computer have a problem after an attempted removal of malware.

  • Follow the prompts to allow ComboFix to download and install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console, and when prompted, agree to the End-User License Agreement to install the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console.

**Please note: If the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is already installed, ComboFix will continue it's malware removal procedures.

Once the Microsoft Windows Recovery Console is installed using ComboFix, you should see the following message:

[external image: Posted Image]

Click on Yes, to continue scanning for malware.

When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Please include the C:\ComboFix.txt log in your next reply.
