ComboFix locked up while scanning

I am running in safemode and running a ComboFix scan. The scan gets through "Completed Stage_50 and I then get the following message: '"C:WINDOWS\system32\'"is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. It's been stuck here for over 30 minutes! Any suggestions?
