I'm just scanning everything thouroughly with avast and have found trojans and virus. Can I reopen this post or should I start another.

Found a few more nasty's. :pullhair:

Still running the avast scan, it's slow with the external drive. I've scanned this before and it's been clean. This is some of the results so far.

Win32:Lager-gen3 [Trj]
C:\ubuntu\disks\root.disk

Win32:Agent-AWB [Adw]
G:\System Volume Information\_restore{D5341F9C-33F7-43CF-8BD2-1AE937C9BA1B}\RP581\A0230916.rbf\{app}\SunnyGames_WhenUSave_InstallerInst.exe\SunnyGames_WhenUSave_Installer.
exe

Win32:Adware-gen [Adw]
G:\System Volume Information\_restore{D5341F9C-33F7-43CF-8BD2-1AE937C9BA1B}\RP581\A0230916.rbf\{app}\NNSUNA3_88.exe\[Embedded_I#06060]\[Embedded_R#1baa8]

Win32:Newdotnet-B [Trj]
G:\System Volume Information\_restore{D5341F9C-33F7-43CF-8BD2-1AE937C9BA1B}\RP581\A0230916.rbf\{app}\NNSUNA3_88.exe\[Embedded_I#06060]

Win32:Newdotnet-B [Trj]
G:\System Volume Information\_restore{D5341F9C-33F7-43CF-8BD2-1AE937C9BA1B}\RP581\A0230916.rbf\{app}\NNSUNA3_88.exe

I'll post the full scan as soon as it's completed. I couldn't move the C:\ubuntu\disks\root.disk so I just deleted it. The rest are in the chest.

Should I leave the removable drive connected for the duration of the cleanout? What about flashcards?

Cheer's again.
JWS111,

Win32:Lager-gen3 [Trj]
C:\ubuntu\disks\root.disk

This is a known false positive. If you delete this file, Ubuntu won't run any more. You might want to recover it out of your recycle bin.

The rest that you have appear to be in a backup of your system restore file. We already cleaned out and reset your system restore file so it should be clean. When you make another backup, you will over-write this file and have a backup of the clean file on your computer.

Your log is still clean.

Let me know what else your AV scan finds.
Ok, whew. I'll have to dig for the ubuntu root. I suspected that was the case for the others, but I prefer to be sure. I'll get back to you later with the full scan. Thanks.
Hi Tomk,

I've scanned everythng thoughroughly, I think it's looking good, what do you think?

JWS111,

Those are all old files that have been removed. You need to reset your restore points.

You need to create a new Clean restore point.
Click Start Menu > Run > copy and paste

%SystemRoot%\System32\restore\rstrui.exe

Press OK. Choose Create a Restore Point then click Next. Name it (something you'll remember) and click Create, when the confirmation screen shows the restore point has been created click Close.

Remove all previous Restore Points
Click Start Menu > Run > copy and paste

cleanmgr

At top, click on More Options tab. Click Clean up… button in the System Restore box. Click on Yes button. When finished, click on Cancel button to exit.
