Hijack This Log- trying to get rid of various spyware

I update and run these programs weekly:

Avast Antivirus
Spybot S&D
Adaware SE

I also have (and update weekly):
Kerio Firewall
Spyware Blaster
Winpatrol

I just switched from dial up to cable internet, and I'm concerned about security. Today Avast found a Win32:Adware-gen infecting 2 files:
c:\documents and settings\mitch\local settings\temp\asmfiles.cab\asm.exe

c:\documents and settings\mitch\local settings\temp\asmfiles.cab\dll

I moved these to the quarentine chest. Are they ok to delete, do you think?

Then after running a backup scan using Trend Micro's online scanner, I found the following "Greyware":
SPYW_PPNETWORK.B
ADW_SE.5253
ADW_SE.6633
ADW_SE.6637
ADW_SE.6647
ADW_SE.9577
ADW_SE.118603
ADW_SE.52856

I took the option to clean the files affected by the above.

I've also just run Easy cleaner to clean up unnecessary files and registry errors (moved them into recycle bin to make sure system runs ok with out them- there were several hundred files removed, mostly .tmp files. I was sure to do a system restore point beforehand.

So, I'm trying to get my comp totally cleaned up, and noticed some of the below looked suspicious, any help or advice would be appreciated as I don't feel confident enough to act on the info in the Hijack This Log.

Thanks in advance for any help,

Val

Be sure to keep SunJava, updated

In Add/Remove programs click on these and press *remove* if listed:

Sun Java Test

Sun Microsystems has fixed five security bugs in Java that expose computers running Linux, Solaris and Windows to hacker attack.
Hi, LD and thanks for the help. Here's what I did and what happened:

I went and fixed the hidden files as you said (should I leave those settings in or change them?)

I ran HJT and fixed what you suggested to fix.

I downloaded and ran AFT.

I went into add/remove prog. and deleted an old version of Sun Java (Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.2). I ran into the only problem here- I deleted the old Sun Java before I downloaded the new, and that may have caused a problem, because I went to restart and the screen went black and stayed black, except for my mouse arrow, which I could move around the totally black screen but not do anything with it. I tried "ctrl-alt-del' but didn't do anything. I left everything alone for a short while (about 10 mins or so), then got nervous and did a hard shutdown by holding the power button till it shutdown. I left it for a few minutes, then powered back up- and thankfully it ran through a normal startup sequence and everything seems to be fine now.

I've re-run and am reposting a new HJT logfile.

If you dont have these three programs I would recommend that you get them. Spywareblaster, Spywareguard and IESPY AD. They will add 1000's of sites to your resticted zone and block some hijacks from happening. I also have a FREE FIREWALL and FREE ANTI VIRUS if you need one.

It is critical to have both a firewall and anti virus to protect your system.

Keep your system up to date and run Adaware & Spybot, once a week works, and hopefully you will be ok from here on. Both are available below.

Safe Surfing. :D

I would also suggest you read this:
So how did I get infected in the first place?
