Hey Guys,

I was trying to see if someone could help me with a problem that I got. My roomate was downloading a cd burning program and somehow I got this adsrve crap on my computer. Its really annoying and I'm scared it will mess up my computer. I have ran CWS Shredder, Ad-Aware, Spybot, Spywareblaster, and I got a pop up stopper to keep popups at bay. Can someone please read my Hijack this log and help me out. I am in need of some serious help, plus I'm not a computer pro at all. Thanks for your help. Here is my HiJack This Log

Hi Lauren

Create a new folder called C:\HijackThis, move the HijackThis.exe file into the new folder and run it from there. This is necessary to ensure you have backups should anything go wrong.

Make sure that you have no browser windows open as this could prevent the fix from working properly. Open HijackThis, scan and when complete, remove the following entries by checking the box to the left and clicking 'fixed checked':

R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = about:blank
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [syshelp] C:\WINDOWS\System32\syshelp.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Module Call initialize] RUNDLL32.EXE reg.dll ondll_reg
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [eScorcher] C:\Program Files\eScorcher\eScorcher.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [supporter5] C:\WINDOWS\System32\supporter5.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Bakra] C:\WINDOWS\System32\IEHost.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Dsi] C:\WINDOWS\System32\dp-him.exe

Click here, for instructions on how to enable hidden files and folders to be visible. After enabling, reboot into safe mode by tapping F8 after the BIOS has loaded, find and delete the following:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\syshelp.exe
C:\Program Files\eScorcher\ <– folder
C:\WINDOWS\System32\supporter5.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\IEHost.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\dp-him.exe

Reboot back into normal mode, rescan with HJT and post a new log here for a final check over.
Daemon,

Thank you so much for helping me out. I really appreciate your time on this matter. Let me update you on what I did

1) I "fixed" all the files from HiJack This that you had indicated.

2) As for the files you wanted me to delete in Safe mode, the only one that I found was the IEHost.exe

I had deleted the Supporter5.exe file yesterday. However, I dont know if I still have the following files on my computer, since I could not find them (thus I was unable to delete them).

a) eScorcher
B) syshelp
c) dp-him.exe

I'll attach my new HiJack This log now.

If I didn't get everything off my computer please let me know. Thanks again for your help. :)

Lauren
That's a lot better, the files you couldn't find were probably orphans. Bit more to do, with only HJT running, have it fix:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = file://C:\WINDOWS\System32\SearchBar.htm
F1 - win.ini: run=rpcsrv.exe

Reboot when done, then just to make sure, go here and run online scans (all), allow them to delete whatever they find:

TrendMicro HouseCall
eTrust AntiVirus Web Scanner
Panda ActiveScan

Reboot when done. Rescan with HJT and post a new log here.
Daemon,

How's it going? Well, I ran HiJack This and got rid of the following

F1 - win.ini: run=rpcsrv.exe

Prior to running HiJack This I had run a CWShredder, so I think that picked up the
search bar:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = file://C:\WINDOWS\System32\SearchBar.htm

I was able to run Panda first (it found 40 infected files) and then TrenMicro (it found no viruses).

Here is the HiJack This Log after i had run these two anti-virus programs
