Reboot and "copy/paste" a new HijackThis log file into this thread.

Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.

Are you using AOL Dial-up?
OK when I went to delete that entry out of hijack this, it wasn't there? I ran the commands before hand though… Also I done this Hijack This from normal mode instead of safe mode… I am going to run a Windows Repair off the XP disk, probably fruitless but at this moment I have to try everything I need this going ASAP. I am on MSN messenger if anyone cares to help in real time.

Also I am not on AOL Dial up it is just preloaded software that came on the Dell 3 years ago. Uninstalled it anyway though.

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new HijackThis log file into this thread.

Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.

I know this might not be the thing to do, so be careful of where you go doing this:

click Start> Run> type in Msconfig tap enter key.
look in the Startup. Make a note of everything that has a check mark. You'll want to re-check them after trying this:

Uncheck everything and reboot.
After you uncheck it and rebooting, you'll be using Selective startup.
When you see the box popup that tells you that, just put a Check in the Box to not show that when you startup.

Now if the internet works, go back into msconfig and at least recheck your anti-virus and firewall.
Reboot and try the internet again. If it still works, go back into msconfig and recheck a couple more and so on.
Maybe you can find what one is causing the problem.
remember I said I would try a Windows Repair? After rebooting for it to copy the system files I am now getting a "STOP C0000221 - Bad Image Checksum" message. Found out that Microsoft say to replace the user32.dll file, done that and still no luck. Probably just going to reinstall Windows tomorrow. Fed up with the whole process.
system restore didn't work (this was the very first thing I tried when the problem arose). The repair install is what has caused this new blue screen. It worked fine until it was about to boot up and start copying the files into the system folder then the blue screen started. Oh well looks like a reinstall :( Hate admitting defeat but oh well.
