ahhhh, that could be….. i had a bunch of malware programs….. like i said, i un-installed all of them in order not to interfere with whatever i had to do here….. i do have a disc that says LG DVD writer solutions…has sections called: power dvd, power producer, nero express, inCD, acrobat reader and drive manual….. should i go and unstall and then put this disk in and reinstall??
compudodo, I don't really know much about InCd but if it something that you use, I would suggest that you put the CD in and try to install it. It may do a repair install without you having to uninstall first.
ok…i'll give that a try…. and again…thanks for all your help and for hanging in there with me….. brightest blessings Tom….. kindest regards, Candice
compudodo, You are very welcome. Glad we could help. Remember, if you should have further problems, even if you just find something confusing, come back to the forum and post a question. There are several different forums that deal with virtually everything computer related where you can ask a question. If your not sure in which forum to post a question, just make a guess and someone will help you. Good Luck and Be Well.
thanks again Tom…I'm heading over to the Hardware forum now….. the disk won't work at all….just like my AVG disk….. so I went to Hardware, saw a similar question from a girl named Edie…who had the same problem, her computer was not reading her CD's…. ( I tried putting in a CD too, and it wouldn't work)….so I followed the directions they gave her…and it still isn't working….so I guess I have to get help from someone over there….. i dis-installed the dvd drive…. when i rebooted, a little white window came up and said, :" Found new hardware cd-rom drive"…when that didn't work, i went to reg-edit and deleted upper and lower filters…. rebooted…and still nothing. SO….. hopefully someone over there can help me. thanks again for all your help and good luck to you with your next computer dodo….. hopefully the powers that be on this site will see how helpful you were to me and give you a raise? brightest blessings, candice

hi tom…. i think i got everyone upset for nothing…the adware program uses the term infections indiscriminately…. i think i should have differentiated the types of stuff it found….it has different classifications…. mine were not malicious, …there were 0 critical objects found…. mine were all privacy objects… and they were all tracking cookies applying to the internet explorer….i did another scan right now…and there were 20 more tracking cookies…. my friend says there is no way to stop those, she gets them all the time too
compudodo, I'm believing that you don't have a problem. Please go ahead and run a quick scan with Malwarebytes and let me know if it finds anything.
