Ok, here it goes…

Last week I got on Windows Update site and to my surprise, I got a Windows Update Error page…using my own knowledge of looking for issues and solving them for about 20 years, I got busy looking for a solution online… So I ended up eventually with this time an Administrators Only page at the Windows Update site so I looked for an answer and found this here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/316524 and followed all steps to no avail… I really was puzzled and still am cause no way should I be refused access especially after setting all permissions, my next thought was "Trojan & Virus".

I got all Virus softwares mostly Trials to scan my system 1 after the other and found nothing! I know I have a pest in there… Here are a few points:
I can create another user and go to Windows update site that way. When I first installed this OS, I said heck I'll use the low level Administrator for a change. I know now I shouldn't of, but I did. I checked my Hijackthis log myself and found nothing out of the ordinary… can someone confirm this?

So I'm using the built in Admin account and need permissions… how ironic right?

Heres my Log:

Hi, and Welcome to WhatTheTech :)

Apologies for the wait, sometimes this forum gets pretty busy and there aren't enough helpers to go around. Are you still having the same problems?

My name is jpshortstuff. I would be glad to take a look at your log and help you with solving any malware problems. HijackThis logs can take a while to research, so please be patient and I'd be grateful if you would note the following:
  • I will be working on your Malware issues, this may or may not, solve other issues you have with your machine.
  • The fixes are specific to your problem and should only be used for the issues on this machine.
  • Please continue to review my answers until I tell you your machine appears to be clear. Absence of symptoms does not mean that everything is clear.
  • It's often worth reading through these instructions and printing them for ease of reference.
  • If you don't know or understand something, please don't hesitate to say or ask!! It's better to be sure and safe than sorry.
  • Please reply to this thread. Do not start a new topic.
Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune.
Download - ATF Cleaner»
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.

(If you use FireFox or the Opera browser
To keep saved passwords, click No at the prompt.)

It's normal after running ATF cleaner that the PC will be slower to boot the first time or two.

Let's get some detailed system information:
  • Download random's system information tool (RSIT) by random/random from here and save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on RSIT.exe to run RSIT.
  • Click Continue at the disclaimer screen.
  • Once it has finished, two logs will open. Please post the contents of both log.txt (<info.txt (<
Thanks.
Due to inactivity this topic will be closed. If you need help please start a new thread and post a new HJT log
