ADMINISTRATORS PASSWORD.

Hi, i have been trying to reboot my pc and it wont do a recovery.i had problems about a year ago and with the help of pc world managed to completley wreck my pc.i had to buy new discs and once installed it worked. i had a trojan show up in symantec but it could not remove it.i tried to do a recovery but my administrators password was invalid,i am the administrator on this pc.am i right in thinking that when i put discs in im only reformatting pc and still have virus/trojan lurking somewhere??symantec performed a security check yesterday and informed me that my password and the administrators are weak. im confused so please help x

Well if you have a virus, don't go straight to re-installing your OS, like you said, that doesn't always work.
