I get fairly regular announcements saying stsycod.sys has encountered probs and has to shut down. Google give varying results as to its 'danger'. I tried using 'startup inspector for windows' (software) but it doesn't show up. Should I/How can I get rid of it?… can I just delete it? O/s is XP Pro.
Hi and welcome back to the WTT forums
If you are worried that your computer may have been attacked or invaded by dangerous elements then you could consider posting an HJT log in the malware removal forum. A malware removal expert will be able to analyse your log and determine if there are undesirable elements present, and provide you with detailed advice and removal instructions if necessary.

Here's a link to explain the procedure :

Its important that you only post an HJT log in the correct forum…..( not in this subforum please!………thanks)

Hi TomK, I'm not sure what's shakin', but that isn't my log and I moved over to the malware forum after the above reply from paws. So you can delete the thread that contains that log if that's appropriate. Just replying to clear things up :) …cheers edit/ woops , sorry you were talking to blingladen
