Although it was not indicated at the time to post a HJT log here, before I do a wipe and reinstall and all the hassles that go with that, I figured it best to let you guys see if there is anything you can suggest. My current issues still include the inability of Windows to update itself including Defender. The error code remains Code 80070424. I have also noticed that when I try to download new programs, such as the Avast removal tool suggested in the other forum and more recently the updated version of CCleaner, the download appears to work, but the program goes "nowhere". I cannot locate the program after if appears to download. I tried both ways using the Run and Save choices. I created new prgram file folders, saved the program to that folder but when I open the folder it is empty. Kind of sounds like a possible HJT issue or virus, I am just at a loss at this point. So to summarize, Windows cannot update, my AVG AV will not run due to a "side-by-side" configuration error despite having uninstalled Avast via the Control Panel and downloads seem to download but then cannot be found or used.
